General Questions
What is specialty coffee and how is graded?
Specialty coffee is the highest grade of coffee, scoring 80+ points on the Specialty Coffee Association scale. Our beans consistently average around 90, placing Nuyu among the world’s top-tier coffees.
What kind of coffee do you use?
We use premium, specialty-grade 100% Arabica beans sourced from the top 5% of farms, roasted for smooth flavor and low acidity.
Is Nuyu a powder or a mix?
No powders here. Nuyu is real coffee, available in ground form, brew bags, and pods, with our functional mushroom extracts blended in.
How do I brew Nuyu coffee?
Brew it just like any other coffee: use a drip coffee maker, French press, pour-over, espresso machine, or simply steep one of our convenient brew bags in hot water.
What does it taste like?
Rich, smooth coffee. The mushroom extracts are neutral-tasting, so you never get that earthy or bitter flavor that other mushroom products often have.
Does it taste more like coffee or mushrooms?
It tastes like specialty coffee. The mushrooms are added for function, not flavor, so you enjoy a full-bodied coffee taste with added wellness benefits.

Which mushrooms are in Nuyu coffee?
Our blend includes Lion’s Mane, Reishi, Chaga, and Cordyceps, four of the most studied functional mushrooms known for focus, balance, immunity, and natural energy.
How much mushroom extract is in each serving?
Each cup contains 2,000 mg of real 10:1 mushroom extracts (500 mg of each mushroom), so you are getting a functional dose in every cup.
Why use extracts instead of whole mushrooms?
We use concentrated 10:1 extracts from the fruiting body of the mushrooms for maximum potency, bioavailability, and consistent results.
What do mushrooms do for me?
Functional mushrooms are studied for benefits like sharper focus, brain health, immune support, stress balance, gut health, and natural energy.
How will the mushrooms make me feel?

Are they psychedelic?

Safe with pregnancy or nursing?

Are your mushroom extracts tested?
Yes. All of our extracts are third-party tested for purity, potency, heavy metals, and microbial safety before blending.
How are the extracts made?
Our extracts are produced using hot water extraction, which creates a potent, clean, and fully water-soluble form of the mushrooms for maximum absorption and effectiveness.
Are your products organic?
Most of our coffee is grown organically, though not all of it carries USDA certification. Our ground coffees are sourced from farms that follow organic practices, while our coffee pods are not organically grown. Some products may carry official organic certifications—please refer to the packaging for details.
Do you use fillers?
Never. No oats, mycelium, or cheap starches. Just real mushrooms, and real coffee.
Where do you source your mushrooms from?
We source our mushrooms from trusted Himalayan farms and suppliers that specialize in high-quality, fruiting body extraction. All are rigorously tested before blending.

Is Nuyu vegan and gluten-free?
Yes. All of our products are vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO, and free of common allergens.
Can I drink this if I’m sensitive to caffeine?
Each serving contains a full cup’s worth of natural caffeine (about 100 mg). If you are sensitive, start with a smaller serving.
Does it work with keto or paleo diets?
Absolutely. Nuyu coffee is free from added sugars or carbs, making it perfect for keto, paleo, and low-carb lifestyles.

Do you supply wholesale or distribute to stores?

Advanced Questions
Why don’t you infuse whole beans with mushrooms?
We blend real extracts directly with the ground coffee. Infusing beans during roasting would burn off potency of the coffee beans and mushroom extracts and ruin the coffee flavor.
Why can’t we get whole bean mushroom coffee?
Because extracts must be blended evenly into ground coffee to deliver a consistent functional dose. Whole beans would not carry the mushrooms effectively.
Do you offer decaf options?
We are exploring decaf and half-caf blends to serve more lifestyles. Stay tuned.
How is Nuyu different from other mushroom coffees?
We use real specialty coffee with zero fillers. Each serving delivers 2,000 mg of real mushroom extracts: Lion’s Mane, Reishi, Chaga, and Cordyceps, so you get the full spectrum of focus, immunity, energy, and wellness benefits in one cup instead of needing multiple products.
